Boys Required Equipment:

Each player is required to provide his own equipment.  The required equipment includes shoulder pads, arm pads, gloves (red/white - high school only), stick, helmet (red/white - all boys teams), colored mouth guard and cup.  Lacrosse cleats are available, but soccer or football cleats can also be worn.

Types and Sizes of Sticks:

The Short Stick

Attack and Midfield: According to official US Lacrosse Rules, the shaft of the short stick must be 30 inches. The complete stick (head and shaft) must be between 40 and 42 inches.  This is the most common type of stick found in the stores.

The Long Stick (only used at 12U & 14U)

Defense: The second different size lacrosse stick is the long stick. This stick is used by defenders and long stick middies. The long stick (including head and shaft) must be between 52 and 72 inches. The shaft is about 60 inches.

The Goalie Stick

Goalie: The last type of different lacrosse sticks is the goalie stick. This is used only by goalies. Its shaft is about 40 inches long.

New Youth Player Note:  Purchase an attackmen & midfielders (40” – 42”) type stick.  Until you're certain you'll play defense, each youth team has defensemen sticks to loan.

Color Requirements for Equipment

Youth (Below Varsity Level) Players

There are no specific requirements for the colors of Gloves, Elbow Pads, or Helmets to allow people to reuse older equipment when possible.  If purchasing new equipment we would suggest following the guidelines listed below for High School Players.

Varsity Players 

• Players are required to use red, white, or red and white color gloves
• Arm pads are required to be Red, or White in color
• Helmets are required to be Cascade Brand S model which fit the specified color scheme defined below. These are custom built helmets that the club orders in bulk offering players and their families large discounts.  We strongly encourage that helmets are ordered through the club, but could be custom ordered on your own if needed.
